Harvest Season
Painted from observations on the Upper East Side during the first chilly days of fall. This piece explores the complementary tension between a bright blue street awning and a sunlit display of autumn pumpkins. I loved the color relationship and felt like it would make a good painting. I made some narrative tweaks such as the scare crow and the woman holding a pumpkin, but the scene largely remained as it looked that morning. Exact location is E84th and York.
